Lore
Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave lore — Dagdan Empire, Hero's Relics, Crests, the Balor demon threat, and the Heroic Games single wish on the Switch 2 release.
Introduction
The Lore hub covers the 1,500-year reign of the gods over the Dagdan Empire, the Hero's Relics, the Crests that empower them, the looming Balor demon threat, and the Heroic Games that grant a single wish. Hero's Relics are Crested weapons forged by the gods and bestowed upon twelve legendary knights. Crests are inherited bloodlines that unlock Relic power. The Balor demon awakens after the five-year time skip, forcing a route switch. The Heroic Games, held every 500 years in the capital Dagsion, determine the empire's next divine ruler and grant the winner a single wish — including rewriting history itself. The capital Dagsion hosts the Heroic Games every 500 years, with twelve Crested knights competing for the right to ask the gods for a single wish. Lore event flags persist across save files in New Game+, so the canon White Bird ending requires careful playthrough planning.

Core Mechanics
Each Crest matches one Relic. Wielding the wrong Relic drains HP. The Balor scales with arena difficulty. The Heroic Games winner can ask the gods for any wish — including rewriting history. The five-year time skip happens between Chapters 14 and 15, with the Balor awakening triggered at Chapter 17 if the Bad Ending flag is missed. Lore event flags persist across save files in New Game+. Lore event flags persist across save files in New Game+, so missing lore events locks the Bad Ending and prevents the Canon ending.
Advantages
Mastering Crest lore reveals hidden dialogue. The Relic of Beginnings is the only one that can save the imprisoned father. Knowing Balor's weakness enables a no-damage clear. Lore flags unlock New Game+ exclusive content and the Canon ending. The Sword Crest of House Cai grants 1.5× sword damage, while the Lance Crest of Dietrich grants counterattack priority. Challenges
Wrong Crest-Relic pairings cause 5 HP loss per turn. The Heroic Games only allow 5 wishes across all routes. Missing lore events locks the Bad Ending. The Balor scales with arena difficulty, so casual players may struggle on Hard mode. The five-year time skip resets Crest progress unless New Game+ is used. Missing lore events locks the Bad Ending.
